In 2017, a curious up-and-coming self-taught fashion designer Erinn Dumas asked herself a critical question that constantly plagues the fashion industry, “what about me and my body type?”

Erinn’s short, lean frame often got lost in the modelesque clothes she adored in boutiques and department stores. So instead of shuffling through racks of clothes only to settle on items that didn’t fully compliment her body and style, she decided to take matters into her own hands. That’s when she launched e. Laniese.

Initially, e. Laniese was a bespoke clothing brand she built as a labor of love. She’d spend days behind the sewing machines, custom-making each item to suit each customer’s body type, style, and budget. 

Within the first four years of launching, e. Laniese, Erinn’s eye for design and the intricate care she put into every garment she touched helped her brand blossom, but it didn’t come without challenges. From failed experiments with wholesale vendors to losing money and developing a permanent shoulder injury from the labor of handmaking her items, Erinn decided to unspool her sewing machine, hang up her unused fabrics and close her business.

But just like fashion, everything comes back around again.

Erinn has relaunched e. Laniese from the lessons learned in her previous attempt and a new perspective and strategy for the brand. e. Laniese is a sexy, bold, trendy clothing company for women.
